 Cubic Bezier Curves

Patrick Min

Instructions

Suggestions for the classroom

  • Select four control points to see resulting curve.
  • Create a series of curves (the last point of each curve is the first point of the next).
  • left click - add a point
  • middle click - turn labels on / off
  • right click - delete point
  • Select "Display C1 continuity hint" to see a line going through the third and fourth point of each section. The second point of the next curve should be on that line for the curve to be C1 continuous at the connecting point.
  • Select "Display convex hull". Move points around to see that a Bezier curve always stays within the convex hull of its control points.
